The College of Arts & Sciences

The Baylor College of Arts & Sciences is the largest academic unit at Baylor: offering the university core curriculum for all undergraduates, a leader moving Baylor to recognition as an R1 institution through its nationally funded research grants and doctoral production, and integrating programming across the arts and humanities, as well as the social, physical and natural sciences.

Opportunities for Impact

Giving to the College of Arts and Sciences directly impacts students, helping them become scholars, entrepreneurs, researchers, and leaders in their fields—doctors, lawyers, pastors, and compassionate individuals whose work touches lives and shapes communities. Your generosity provides essential resources for everything from lab renovations to research funds, as well as experiential learning and outreach opportunities, ensuring that our students continue to thrive and lead the way toward a brighter future.

Supporting Students through Scholarships

Grow and expand scholarship funding for students at both the College and departmental levels, offering vital support based on merit or financial need. By providing faculty with a powerful recruiting tool, we can draw students to Baylor, help them thrive throughout their academic journey, and assist those with the greatest financial need in overcoming financial obstacles.

Enriching Educational Resources

Grow the College’s ability to provide online or cost-free learning materials, creating greater accessibility for students. Offer faculty opportunities to refine their teaching craft and elevate the learning experience. Enhance education by integrating experiential learning that brings classroom concepts to life.

Supporting Student Success

Create experiential learning opportunities for students. Grow support for post-graduation preparation and competition for prestigious awards and fellowships. Grow opportunities for undergraduate research.

Resourcing Faculty

Emerging R1 research activity by faculty and students is critical to maintaining and advancing our research standing in the academy. Recruitment of nationally and internationally recognized faculty is the fastest route to advance our research standing, and is particularly attractive to those committed to the Christian faith. Endowed chairs and professorships, along with research funds, provide critical resources to attract top talent, support groundbreaking research, and offer opportunities for students to engage in impactful academic work.

Vision for the Future

Dean Lee Nordt, Ph.D., has a vision for the College’s faculty and students, where young men and women find their pursuit of a Baylor education spurred forward by a robust, caring community where financial concerns are no longer a barrier in their educational journeys. Dean Nordt has a vision for faculty, drawn to Baylor by their Christian faith and inspired by R1 research activity, boldly pursuing research interests and mentoring their students.
